What you’ll get to do

As our Test & Validation Lead, you’ll own the development and execution of our validation and verification (V&V) strategies across product development and manufacturing. From early-stage prototyping to full-scale qualification, your work will be key in ensuring our designs meet demanding performance, safety, and regulatory standards.

You’ll help shape and execute testing campaigns across everything from core thermal hydraulics rigs, mechanical component testing, and instrumentation validation, to system-level integration trials. Your role will span design feedback loops, compliance assurance, and readiness for industrialization.

You’ll also collaborate with top-tier partners, and key industrial suppliers to develop test programs and infrastructure — laying the foundation for how we validate nuclear systems at scale. As we grow, you'll play a central role in building the internal testing function, processes, and future team.

You will:

• Develop and Implement V&V Strategies: Shape and execute testing roadmaps for our innovations at each development stage, from initial trials to large-scale demonstrations.

• Own Test Plans and Campaigns: Create comprehensive test plans, run experiments, capture data, and interpret the results to steer design improvements to mature technology to from low maturity levels to commercial product.

• Partner with Industry Experts: Work closely with external labs, research institutes, and other partners to co-develop groundbreaking testing initiatives.

• Support Nuclear-Grade Qualification: Ensure that materials, components, and manufacturing processes meet the stringent requirements of nuclear applications.

• Build Future Capabilities: Lay the groundwork for a robust testing function at Blykalla, including processes, tools, and a team of future specialists.
  
  

Who you are

• Relevant Education & Background: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Nuclear, Electrical, or a related engineering field.
  8+ years of experience in testing, validation, or product development — preferably within regulated industries such as nuclear, aerospace, or medical technology.
  Proven track record of leading test activities end-to-end: planning, setup, execution, data analysis, and translating results into design decisions.

• Comfortable working hands-on with test rigs and instrumentation in both lab and field environments

• Experienced in scaling of prototypes and tests.

• Proficient in tools such as LabVIEW, MATLAB, or Python for test automation and data analysis.

• Familiarity with relevant engineering and safety standards (ASME, IEC, ISO) and experience with formal V&V processes.

• Hands-on testing expertise – Strong background in structured testing and verification workflows, including feedback to cross-functional teams.

• Collaborative mindset – Able to navigate projects with multiple stakeholders, both internal and external.

• Curiosity & drive – Passion for learning, problem-solving, and making a real impact in the clean energy space.

• Fluent in English, spoken and written

• Fluency in Swedish is a plus
