What you’ll get to do
We’re seeking an experienced Export Control Manager to join our team in Stockholm. In this role, you will develop and be responsible for Blykalla’s export control function by classifying our technology, securing the licenses we need to operate internationally, and making sure compliance keeps pace with a fast-moving organisation.
Develop and maintain Blykalla’s export control program, including policies, procedures, classifications and recordkeeping
Manage licensing and authorisations under the Swedish Radiation Safety Authority (SSM) and EU's dual-use regulation, and handling of technology transfers received from Blykalla's US operations
Monitor changes in export control legislation across our key jurisdictions
Advise project, engineering, supply chain, and commercial teams on export control issues
Lead training, internal audits, and regulator engagement with SSM and other relevant authorities
Who you’ll get to work with
The Export Control Manager sits in the Regulatory Team within Blykalla, and reports to the VP Regulatory & Public Affairs. We are a diverse team that is passionate about our work and Blykalla.
Who you are
You will be part of a highly skilled team with a can-do attitude. We value personnel chemistry and strive to create a workplace you enjoy coming to. There are however a few things that we think will help you succeed in this role:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in law, engineering or related field
5+ years of experience in export control or a closely related discipline, ideally in nuclear or other dual-use industry
Working knowledge of EU’s dual-use regulation and licensing requirements of the Swedish Radiation Safety Authority
Experience preparing licence applications, classifications, and end-user assessments, and engaging directly with regulators
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical writing skills
Fluency in English and Swedish, spoken and written
Meritorious skills:
Familiarity with US 10 CFR Part 810 and nuclear-specific frameworks (NSG guidelines, IAEA safeguards, bilateral nuclear cooperation agreements)
Completed Export Control Training at the Swedish Export Control Society (Exportkontrollföreningen) or equivalent

About Blykalla
Blykalla is Sweden's only SMR vendor, commercializing lead-cooled fast reactors for industrial use. Based on 20+ years of research, their SEALER technology is a compact 55 MWe unit designed to offer a safe, efficient, and scalable power solution. With a strong foundation within Sweden, Blykalla is well positioned to deliver Europe's first advanced SMR, providing reliable and sustainable baseload energy to power AI and clean industries.
Backed by partners such as Uniper, ABB, KSB, Höganäs, and the Royal Institute of Technology, Blykalla has secured close to EUR 50 million in funding, including a SEK 99 million grant from the Swedish Energy Agency and a EUR 17 million investment from the EU. The company plans to complete its first SEALER reactor by 2030 and begin serial production in the 2030s. By 2050, their technology could generate up to 500 TWh of clean electricity annually, cutting global CO₂ emissions by 0.5 gigatons each year.
